Judy Crenshaw is burning the candle at both ends to get the word out
about her Republican candidacy for Douglas County Commissioner District
II. She is encouraging citizens to participate by attending their caucus
precinct meeting to become a delegate for the Douglas County Republican Assembly. Judy
thrives on the energy the citizens generate when they understand the
power behind their vote through participation in the caucuses.
She maintains that Douglas County is one of the strongest counties in
the state and has set a standard for leadership and excellence in
governance. "Once you are known for excellence, the bar has been raised
for leadership," says Crenshaw.
Her leadership contributions are diverse, including two terms with the
Castle Rock Town Council, Chairman of the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce, and a strong business background in Douglas
County for over 25 years.
As Chief Deputy for the Douglas County Clerk and Recorder office, her
leadership role has created a work culture of quality service for
citizens. "My parents taught me how to treat people, therefore I
understand that citizens pay our wages and deserve the best quality service and decision-making
we can provide while being fiscally conservative," Crenshaw stated.
Judy stated, "I understand that providing leadership often
means taking a less than easy path. I believe a leader assumes the
responsibility TO constantly become more knowledgeable and informed
about issues that confront us.”
Her distinguished history spans over 30 years of community involvement
as a volunteer. Judy is the recipient of the "Castle Rock Chamber
Citizen and Volunteer of the Year" and was chosen to represent Castle Rock by carrying the Olympic
torch in 2002. "I thrive on being involved in every aspect of my
community, from church work to non-profit organizations.”
Her husband of 23 years is Joe, and she has 5 grown children and 12 grandchildren, all of whom are 100% behind her commitment. Friends and family recognize her energy
and enthusiasm and fully support her quest to be county commissioner.
She is committed to taking a leadership role in our water issues. Judy
said, "By working regionally we can provide a renewable source,
recapture and reuse water and create long term substantial storage while
minimizing the costs to our citizens." While on Castle Rock Town
Council she served on the public works committee that reviewed the water
and sewer issues with recommended future infrastructure improvements.
Douglas County is thriving, and future development must pay its own
way. "The mill levy structure must be reviewed yearly to determine
whether it is the appropriate time to lower it," she said. She has a
track record of working with people with diverse opinions to formulate
the best solution for the common good.
Judy Crenshaw will be Douglas
County's strong voice as County Commissioner.
